I know you from your food choices. You are trying to lose weight, to incorporate healthier foods, but you like to be comfortable and eat the things you enjoy and which were presented as you grew up. Hence, you eat many carbohydrates and starches. These turn to sugar in the body. You like smooth food with fat, which gives a nice texture, like the peanut butter and cheese. As a vegetarian or vegan, be sure to take iron, calcium citrate and every now and then B 12. Time will tell how healthy is your diet. You may wish to keep a chart and at your next doctor’s exam, show him/her for an evaluation.

Personally, all the carbs are too much for me. They might work for you. I don’t eat real sugar, nor mixed ready made beverages. If I want tomato, I slice one up and have with a salad. As for banana, one small or one half large. Too much starch and potassium. Not double up with the banana and the smoothie, not healthy.

But, keep up the good work, and see how your blood work is at your next exam. As I am not a dietitian and don’t know your current state of health, I can’t say. As a vegan, when I did it, I found it hard to get enough energy and keep my weight down. While I feel badly for the animals, I do wear leather shoes, belts, and know there is no life without destroying life, even the bacteria in the mouth. The vegan regime for me was no milk, no dairy, no eggs, no honey. This other thing, vegetarian is a half way kind of thing. Either all in or then, you may as well eat the red meat that you need for the menses (to make up for loss of iron). Cut way down on the bread, eat turkey or chicken, but mainly fresh ocean caught fish, so you can be smarter and have good skin and hair. Then, you won’t have to eat peanut butter which is merely fat and not easy to digest.

Can Pure Acai Berry aid weight loss?

May 20th, 2011

Im currently on a diet and exercise and i would like to maximise my weight lose not fast but at a better rate. I have done some research on the berry itself and some people suggest that it is a weight loss supplement and some people suggest that it only helps you become more energised. Can anyone shed any light on the matter?
Thank you, if not is there anything that can help speed up metabolism like vitamins or anything?

Actually the scientific evidence is that it does neither. There is nothing to beat diet + exercise I am afraid.

Has anyone used Acai Slim?

April 17th, 2011

I was trying to research on acai berry products and i saw Acai Slim pills. But am not sure if this works or just another scam. Has anyone used Acai Slim? Did it work?

A friend from college emailed me some information about acai berry and gave me some links to check out because I am also in search of ways to lose weight. She’s been using this Acai Slim for several months now and I see how she lost a lot of weight so I thought this is for real. She sent me a link where she orders her pills online. She advised me to use this link to get legitimate acai slim pills because there are a lot of acai berry products online which she said could be scam. Let me share with you the links she sent me :

I’ve visited the site and I am also considering this for my weight loss plans.
Hope this helps.

Where can you buy Acai Max Cleanse?

April 14th, 2011

Acai Max Cleanse is composed of some of the best acai berry extracts blended with a huge amount of protein along with a lot of hormone triggering enzymes.

This whole acai berry thing is a scam.
Acai berries are high in antioxidants.
A diet high in antioxidant foods can increase your metabolism.
An increase in metabolism can burn more calories.
More calories burned can result in weight loss.
Acai berries cause weight loss!
That is the big "stretch" these con artists are selling.
Acai berries don’t have any more antioxidants in them than blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries. At 10 times the price because they are "exotic".
The "cleanse" pills that usually come with them contain nothing more than psyllium husk powder to help you poop more. There is no such thing as a "fat burner ". Burning more calories than you consume is the only fat burner.
None of these weight loss supplements guarantee anything unless you establish a healthy diet and exercise program.
So why not just establish a healthy diet and exercise program and keep your money?
The same "stretch of the imagination" applies to the green tea, maquiberry, hoodia, moyoberry, gojiberry, fruta planta, and african mango seed extract pills out there.
Spending the same $2 to $5 a day on this junk would pay for a great gym membership.
The only weight loss supplement I recommend is a basic multivitamin.
A healthy diet high in both soluble and insoluble fiber is the only safe way there is.
