I know you from your food choices. You are trying to lose weight, to incorporate healthier foods, but you like to be comfortable and eat the things you enjoy and which were presented as you grew up. Hence, you eat many carbohydrates and starches. These turn to sugar in the body. You like smooth food with fat, which gives a nice texture, like the peanut butter and cheese. As a vegetarian or vegan, be sure to take iron, calcium citrate and every now and then B 12. Time will tell how healthy is your diet. You may wish to keep a chart and at your next doctor’s exam, show him/her for an evaluation.
Personally, all the carbs are too much for me. They might work for you. I don’t eat real sugar, nor mixed ready made beverages. If I want tomato, I slice one up and have with a salad. As for banana, one small or one half large. Too much starch and potassium. Not double up with the banana and the smoothie, not healthy.
But, keep up the good work, and see how your blood work is at your next exam. As I am not a dietitian and don’t know your current state of health, I can’t say. As a vegan, when I did it, I found it hard to get enough energy and keep my weight down. While I feel badly for the animals, I do wear leather shoes, belts, and know there is no life without destroying life, even the bacteria in the mouth. The vegan regime for me was no milk, no dairy, no eggs, no honey. This other thing, vegetarian is a half way kind of thing. Either all in or then, you may as well eat the red meat that you need for the menses (to make up for loss of iron). Cut way down on the bread, eat turkey or chicken, but mainly fresh ocean caught fish, so you can be smarter and have good skin and hair. Then, you won’t have to eat peanut butter which is merely fat and not easy to digest.
